The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim have arrived in Rwanda today. A statement from the Office of the Government Spokesperson says Ban and Kims visit to Rwanda is part of a regional tour which will also take them to Mozambique, DR Congo, Uganda and Ethiopia. The tour is aimed at coordinating their efforts in building peace and stability in Africa, especially in the Great Lakes Region and reinforcing partnerships between the United Nations and the World Bank towards Africa’s development. During their two-day stay in Rwanda, both dignitaries are expected to hold discussions with President Kagame and other Rwandan authorities on policy, regional security and development issues, according to the statement.
